Hull City have made an unsuccessful verbal offer for Philadelphia Union left-back Kai Wagner.
Express Sport understands that the Tigers’ proposal involved taking Wagner on loan with an obligation to buy.
Burnley have also shown an interest in the 27-year-old this winter.
But as it stands, Wagner is more likely to join either Serie A side Lecce or Spanish outfit Alaves, who are both in talks.
Wagner has a £1.7million release clause built into his contract, which runs until the end of 2026, and is likely to leave on a permanent basis before the deadline.
